A-List Screenwriting: The Immersion
(Formerly Killer Screenwriting)
Are you ready to go from A to Z to A-List? A-List Screenwriting: The Immersion is a week long screenwriting course like no other. Participants submit their scripts in advance and Jim analyzes them and hand-selects excerpts to use as teaching tools and as inspiration for parts of the lecture, exercises, and discussions. This script-consulting aspect alone is worth the price of the class.
Jim crams a semester's worth of craft into a week. Not only is every topic in the A-List Screenwriting: The Lecture covered, but many hours are devoted to improving each writer's craft, using his or her own script. Jim analyzes several scenes from each screenplay, and actors perform a scene from each participant's script. By the end of this class, your jokes will be funnier, your dialogue sharper, your conflict more specific, your theme more coherent, and your script will be an overall better read.
This intensive and personal interaction is a rare chance to fast-forward your growth as a writer. Not only does Jim challenge you, he elevates your expectations of what your writing can be – which for some can be an overwhelming experience: one participant broke down in tears of joy at the end of the week. For the first time, you can also experience the class in two parts. However you participate – two-part class or one-week immersion – at the end of it all you will be a better writer.
